Alexis Stiles leads Spencer Stuart’s Global Healthcare Practice spanning the Firm’s work in all aspects of healthcare—provider, payer, academic health sciences, biopharma, pharmaceutical services, biotechnology, medical technology, digital health and private equity. She is also a member of the Firm’s CEO and Board Practices. Alexis specializes in advising and recruiting CEOs, Board Directors and senior-level executives across the broad spectrum of healthcare services organizations including health systems, integrated delivery networks, academic health sciences institutions, research institutions, payers, healthcare-related associations and private equity.

Leadership Advisory Expertise in Healthcare

    • Alexis has spent over 25 years in the healthcare industry as an executive and leadership consultant. In her 15+ years at Spencer Stuart, Alexis has led over 750 projects for senior executives and board directors, including 175+ succession projects for CEOs, Presidents, Deans, Chancellors and EVP/SVP of Health Affairs.
    • Prior to taking on the role as Global Healthcare Practice Leader for Spencer Stuart in 2020, Alexis served as the North American Healthcare Practice Leader for five years and the Global Healthcare Services Sector Leader for nine years. She is a member of the Firm’s North American Operating Committee and has served on the Firm’s Nominations Committee for six years. Alexis is a two-time recipient of the Lou Rieger Quality Award, the firm’s annual award for the highest quality client service.
    • Before joining Spencer Stuart, Alexis served as a managing director at The Advisory Board Company, a membership-based organization providing business strategy, operations, and general management best practice research and analysis to the healthcare industry.
    • Alexis began her professional services career at McKinsey & Company, where she was a leader in the payor/provider practice. Earlier, Alexis held several positions at Duke University Health System with a focus on strategy, finance and value-based care.

Alexis holds postgraduate degrees from the University of Michigan including an MBA from the Ross School of Business and an MHSA from the School of Public Health. She holds a BA with high distinction in psychology from the University of Michigan’s College of Literature, Science and the Arts.
