Chief Clinical Transformation Officer, UnitedHealth Group

Dr. Choy is Chief Clinical Transformation Officer in the Office of Medical Affairs at UnitedHealth Group. UnitedHealth Group is a health care and well-being company made up of a diverse team around the world dedicated to making health care work better through two distinct and complementary businesses: Optum and UnitedHealthcare.  Dr. Choy leads a team focused a team focused on modernization and transformation across the enterprise, focused on enhancing capabilities and clinical excellence through technology, data, and optimization of clinical systems.

Dr. Choy has led innovations in clinical quality improvement, patient safety, clinical decision support, clinical analytics, provider data management, credentialing, population health, automation, and machine learning at UnitedHealth Group and previously at additional organizations including Mass General Brigham and health technology ventures Q Bio, CredSimple, and Andros.

Dr. Choy has served as faculty at Harvard Medical School and completed his clinical training at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He received his BS in Chemical Engineering from Columbia University, MS in Operations Research and Economic-Engineering Systems from Stanford University, and MBA from Johns Hopkins University.
