EVP, System Transformation and Chief of Staff, Marshfield Clinic Healthcare System

Melissa is the Executive Vice President of System Transformation at Marshfield Clinic Healthcare System. In her role, she brings together multiple administrative groups to operationally and strategically create an environment that enables Marshfield Clinic Healthcare System to transform healthcare for Wisconsin.

In her position, she helped transform the Marshfield Clinic from a multi-specialty clinic with no hospitals, 5,000 employees and $2B revenues, to a healthcare system with 11 hospitals, 14,000 employees and $3.2B revenues. Also, she led the development of the first System HEDI Office with the commitment to addressing health equity, diversity and inclusion for employees, providers, patients and communities served with the goal of fostering an environment of inclusivity. She coordinates and implements leadership prerogatives across a multi-faceted organization. Additionally, she oversees the integration of the system’s external affairs function (government affairs/policy, marketing and communication) with system priorities.

Melissa has 25 years of healthcare experience and has been with Marshfield Clinic since 2016. Prior to joining Marshfield Clinic, she was the Vice President of Membership and Certification of the Medical Group Management Association in Denver.

Melissa is Fellow of the Carol Emmott Foundation and a member of The Equity Collaborative.
