Mikelle Moore

former Chief Community Health Officer, Intermountain Healthcare

Mikelle Moore is a nationally recognized health executive with more than 25 years experience impacting communities through forward-thinking, collaboration, and leadership. As a thought leader in the space, Mikelle knows the value in moving from healthcare to health, placing her on Modern Healthcare’s Top 25 Women Leaders in 2020 and the publication’s Women to Watch list in 2019. Her national engagements include serving on the American Hospital Association’s Population and Community Health Advisory Committee and is a founding steering committee member of the National Alliance to Impact the Social Determinants of Health. Mikelle also serves her local community through board service on United Way of Salt Lake, Envision Utah, and Shelter the Homeless, and as a pet therapy volunteer.

Mikelle works to bring visibility for underserved communities into the board room and is personally committed to seeking opportunities where she and others can make an impact. Her expansive thinking goes beyond the ways health systems can directly address disparities clinically to broaden the scope to address the determinants of health through equity, impact investments, and ESG. Mikelle is a strong advocate for these strategies, their power to strengthen organizational performance, and their essential role in serving those most vulnerable in our
communities.

Mikelle has payer, provider, business and start-up experience in healthcare having served in executive leadership at Intermountain Health, an integrated system serving an 8-state region. During her tenure at Intermountain, she served as Chief Community Health Officer and as the first female CEO of the system’s flagship hospital. In addition, Mikelle has worked in contracting for a provider-owned health plan and in strategy for Mayo Clinic Arizona. Mikelle earned her master’s degrees in business administration and health services administration from Arizona State University and a bachelor’s degree in physiology from the University of Arizona. She is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and completed the Young American Leaders Program at Harvard Business School.

Mikelle and her husband are the proud parents of four teenagers and one Sheepadoodle. Together, they enjoy tennis, boating, travel, and the outdoors.
