Responsibilities

Dr. Vivek Garg, M.D., MBA, is Chief Medical Officer for Humana’s Primary Care Organization, which includes CenterWell, Senior Primary Care and Conviva Care Centers. As Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Vivek Garg focuses on scaling and deepening our model of care clinical performance, patient-focused culture and clinical excellence in holistic, senior-focused primary care.  

Experience
Before joining the Primary Care Organization, Dr. Vivek Garg served as Chief Medical Officer of CareMore and Aspire Health, an integrated healthcare delivery organization with $1.6B+ revenue and 180,000 patients in 32 states. He previously led CareMore’s growth and new markets organization, including business development, product development and national implementation of new products in Medicaid and home-based complex care. Previously, he worked as Director of Medical Operations at Oscar Health and Medical Director/PCP at One Medical Group, with a faculty appointment at Weill Cornell Medical School.

Recognition
In 2018, Dr. Vivek Garg was recognized by the National Minority Quality Forum (NMQF) as a 40 Under 40 Leader in Minority Healthcare. He serves on select advisory boards focused on new models of care and technology-based innovation in healthcare, and has been an invited speaker at NAM, NQF, LAN and other healthcare forums.

Education
Dr. Vivek Garg graduated summa cum laude from Yale University with a bachelor of science in Biology. He earned his M.D. from Harvard Medical School and his MBA from Harvard Business School. He trained in internal medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and is board certified.

Personal
Dr. Vivek Garg is the son of immigrants from India and resides in New Jersey with his wife (an oncologist and researcher), son and daughter.
