Barbara Walczyk Joers

President & CEO, Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare

Barbara Walczyk-Joers has served as President & CEO at Gillette Children’s Specialty Healthcare since late 2013. As the United States first hospital dedicated to serving children who have disabilities, Gillette Children’s provides subspecialized care to children who have complex, rare or traumatic conditions affecting the neurological, muscular and/or skeletal systems.

With more than twenty-five years of experience in healthcare, Barbara has a focus on strategic performance and change management as well as health policy and advocacy. She has experience in academic health centers, both adult and pediatric services, community health systems and independent children’s hospitals. Earlier in her career she also served at a professional services firm.

A recognized thought leader in healthcare, Barbara serves on the Board of Directors of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and sits on committees for other organizations supporting children’s healthcare and related topics. She has received several recognitions and awards throughout her career.

Barbara is a graduate of Marymount University (VA) and holds a Masters in Health Services Management and Policy from the George Washington University (DC).
