Bob is Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Bright Health, a consumer-driven health insurance company serving individuals under and over 65 in 3 markets. Focused on business development and strategy, Bob draws on more than three decades of experience in healthcare innovation to guide Bright Health on its mission to provide a smarter, more connected healthcare experience that strengthens the relationship between patients and their care providers. He believes there’s a better way to better health, and Bright Health is fulfilling his vision for simpler, more affordable health insurance that connects people to leading physicians and enhanced care. Bright Health was recently named to the 2017 Forbes Next Billion-Dollar Startups list.

Before co-founding Bright Health, Bob advised private equity firm and venture capital firms on healthcare. He also served on several for-profit and not-for-profit boards. From 1986 to 2008, Bob led a wide range of initiatives as an executive at UnitedHealth Group, becoming CEO in 2000. Previously, he was one of the first employees at Peak Health Plan before it was acquired by UnitedHealthcare.

Bob earned his bachelors and masters degrees from the University of Michigan.
