Join us in Nashville for Connect 2022!

Helping Health Care Executives Achieve Their Transformation Goals.

Health Evolution is announcing Connect, an invitation-only, curated convening of CEOs and C-Suite executives from providers, payers, and life science organizations, along with technology leaders, investors, innovators, and policymakers. Connect 2022 will be held from September 14-16, 2022, in Nashville. Health Evolution Connect builds on the renowned Health Evolution Summit by probing critical emerging issues and challenges in health care with the same intensity and candor, but with a particular focus on near-term pathways for change and transformation.

Connect participants will experience a mix of unscripted panel discussions featuring top industry thought leaders and interactive small-group roundtable discussions. Leaders will enjoy ample time for networking and engaging with peers and counterparts across the health care ecosystem. Connect is designed for CEOs and C-Suite executives more broadly, and we encourage CEOs and their leadership teams to participate and learn together. Executives will leave Nashville with new strategies to accelerate progress, new relationships to amplify impact, and new perspectives on leading their organizations through a volatile time in our industry.

Topics for Connect’s Big Discussions include:

  • Exploring how the volatile economy will affect purchasing, care delivery and innovation
  • Surveying the health policy landscape beyond the midterm elections
  • Maximizing the impact of initiatives to advance health equity
  • Confronting misinformation and restoring the public’s trust in health care
  • Building the C-suite of the future
  • Achieving scale in home-based care models
  • Harnessing the latest innovations in women’s health

Connect will also be an opportunity to highlight Health Evolution Confab — the special initiative to advance women leaders in health care — through large and small group sessions that will examine practices for promoting greater gender diversity in the most senior executive roles and board positions.

Barbarians at the Gate: Winning Moves for Health Systems in the Age of Disruption
The Joseph, 8th Floor, The Edmonson A
Hosted by DexCare | Facilitated by Derek Streat, CEO, DexCare with industry leaders Mike Anderes, Chief Digital Officer, Froedtert Health; President, Inception Health, Denise Basow, SVP & Chief Digital Officer, Ochsner Health and Randall S. Moore, MD, SVP & COO Health & Care Solutions, Franciscan Alliance

The health care delivery market is experiencing unprecedented shifts with new entrants wading in ranging from large public eCommerce companies and retailers with unfathomable consumer data and reach to pure-play digital health disruptors creating completely re-engineered care delivery models. All these organizations, pose an existential threat to traditional health systems. But health systems need not concede their future to the disruptors. The window of opportunity is open, albeit briefly, for health systems to leverage their unique history and positioning in consumers’ minds, expertise in delivering quality care, and wide-reaching, multi-modal care access networks to differentiate from the disruptors. In order to win, however, they will need to do more, quickly, and combine the best of both worlds. Join distinguished CEOs and Chief Digital Officers as they share how their organizations are pivoting in this new environment.

The health care industry has struggled with incorporating consumer engagement trends in their programs. Many organizations are overdue on modernizing care management strategies that reach individuals when, where and how they want. Consumer-focused care management requires integrated systems that deliver valuable, actionable data and the reporting tools necessary to ensure next best actions are delivered consistently to the most at-risk individuals. Join us as we delve into how to remove data silos, streamline care and implement digital experiences that keep people feeling connected to your organization.

Hosted by Clearstep | Facilitated by Adeel Malik, Co-Founder & CEO, Clearstep with industry leaders David Banks, SEVP, Chief Strategy & Organizational Transformation Officer, AdventHealth and Julie Jacono, SVP, Chief Strategy Officer, The MetroHealth System

Specialty care accounts for the majority of health system revenue, yet only 14% of all health systems have implemented online scheduling for their specialty services due to a host of practical yet addressable barriers. Leaders have an opportunity to create a patient referral management and self-scheduling experience which enables access, avoids wasting valuable capacity, and ensures specialists are confident that the right patients will fill their calendar. This discussion will describe the clinical AI chat and intelligent routing technologies needed to offer your patient-consumers trusted guidance and self-service access to your high-value specialty resources, making health care easier and safer—and driving retention and market share.

Designing Fertility Benefits to Advance Equity Goals
The Joseph, 8th Floor, The Edmonson B

Groups are looking to health plans to meet the demand for comprehensive fertility health care and family-forming benefits. With expectations from members and groups changing rapidly, inclusive fertility health care and family-forming benefits can help health plans provide equitable access to care, engage more members, attract more groups, and drive top-line growth. Join us for a discussion on what makes an inclusive fertility benefit. We will take a deep dive into proactive engagement, personalized support, telehealth access, and member experience. You will walk away with an understanding of how to best provide an equitable benefit throughout the entire continuum of a member’s journey – from financial and geographic access to culturally competent care delivery.

What’s Next After Precision Medicine? From Biomarker to Better Care
The Joseph, 8th Floor, The Albertine D
Hosted by Change Healthcare | Facilitated by Yousuf Zafar, MD, SVP Medical Informatics, Change Healthcare with industry leaders Christian Nguyen, VP, Global Patient Outcomes and Real-World Evidence, Eli Lilly and Darshak Sanghavi, MD, Global Chief Medical Officer, Babylon Health

Broadly speaking, Precision Medicine integrates patient disease and genetic data to identify tailored treatment. Yet, after the best treatment is identified, can our health care system deliver the right care to the right patient at the right time—and at the right cost? Not really. While we are awash with targeted therapies, the broader health care ecosystem has yet to fully realize the promise of precision medicine. Building on the foundations of precision medicine, Precision Care Delivery seeks to address the practical challenges of providing tailored treatment at scale with interventions such as predictive analytics, personalized care management, and effective provider engagement to improve the health care experience, optimize outcomes and reduce costs.

The Joseph, 8th Floor, The Edmonson B
Hosted by Enlace Health | Facilitated by Bill Nordmark, CEO, Enlace Health with industry leader Tom Aubel, AVP Reimbursements, UPMC Health Plan

Volatile volumes from the pandemic, persistent inflation, and greater need for cost control are all highlighting the vulnerabilities of fee-for-service economics. While these market forces fuel interest in value-based care, challenges remain, especially in the commercial market where status quo strategic thinking – such as additional point solutions or price increases – still prevails. Until we address the current fee-for-service delivery and payment models, real change is limited. Join leaders who have in-depth, VBC-program experience to learn how they built, deployed, and expanded successful value-based care initiatives through a completely different, inside-out approach.

988 is Live! But Will It Improve Access to Mental Health Care & Treatment?
The Joseph, 8th Floor, The Edmonson A
Hosted by Bamboo Health | Facilitated by Nishi Rawat, MD, Chief Clinical Officer, Bamboo Health with industry leaders Curtis Barnett, President & CEO, Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Wendy Martinez Farmer, CEO, Georgia Collaborative ASO, Beacon Health Options and James Wright, Chief, Crisis Center Operations, 988 team, Office of the Assistant Secretary

988 – akin to 911 for behavioral health – went live on July 16, giving people an easy-to-remember number to connect with the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. In the first week of the number going live, calls increased 45%, showing demand for the service. While the new number reroutes callers to already existing crisis call centers, the hope is the number is a first step to transform crisis care in the U.S., giving more Americans access to behavioral health care and services through a “no wrong door” best practices approach. That success depends not only on government support, where the focus has been on implementation, but also integration with 911, traditional health care providers, payers, and technology vendors to accomplish the vision.

The Digital End Game: Have We Forgotten the Patient?
The Joseph, 8th Floor, The Albertine D
Hosted by NTT DATA | Facilitated by John Frownfelter, MD, Chief Strategist, Data Driven Health, NTT DATA with industry leaders Noelle Eder, EVP & Global Chief Information Officer, Cigna and Jim Jirjis, MD, VP & Chief Health Information Officer, HCA Healthcare

As health care organizations rush to create digital front doors, member portals and AI-guided disease management programs, we must ask the question: who is the true beneficiary of these digital experiences – the business or the patient/member? And, more importantly, are we inadvertently leaving people behind? Talk with prominent health system and payer leaders about the key components for building an accessible, human-centric digital health care strategy that reduces friction and builds empathy and trust at every touchpoint.
